GRAPHICS USED:  The Alaska state flag was prominent on plates issued from 1948 through 1965, and again from 1968 through 1975.  Plates in 1966 and 1967 featured a totem pole graphic at the left of the number.  From 1976 to approx. 1983, a grizzly bear and mountain scene were displayed, along with a blue "76" sticker square in the upper right.  Around 1982, the state flag reappeared, in a flat printed format, in the center of the plate. The plate on the header looks to be a new issue (Gold Rush), but it may be some sort of special issue.
