GRAPHICS USED:  The 1899 to 1912 series of plates were porcelain, and had the word BELGIQUE along with the national crest, imposed over the serial number.

PLATES ARE: Officially issued,  and I've been told by a resident of Beligum that the front plates, although not provided, are mandatory. If a vehicle owner wants a front plate, it's his responsibility to have one made, resulting in some variety of manufacting styles.

SINGLE PLATES OR PAIRS: Single, officially - but pairs are known.
