Approximately seven or eight single1983 issues are known to exist, embossed aluminum, green on reflective white, with FREEPORT spelled out across the top, and BAHAMAS across the bottom. All known issues are in the single digit range, with one or two pushing up into the number 10 or 11 range. I'm not sure of the use of these plates, as Freeport is located on Grand Bahama, and it stands to reason that Grand Bahama plates would be in use. I've been told that these low numbered Freeport plates could possibly be a special Government issue of some kind.
Before 1976, standard OUT ISLAND issue plates were in use in Freeport, in white on green, stencilled or hand painted, with the letter F and a serial number.
