PLATES ARE: Officially issued. Although plates from pre-1960 are still rather plentiful, most dated and undated plates from the mid-1960's through the current issue are very difficult to turn up, due to the change to a communist form of Government in 1959. The plate at the top of the page is one of the few current issues that managed to make its way out of Cuba.
