STATUS: French Territory, now India.

FIRST LICENSE PLATES IN USE: Plates were used from 1925 through 1954, when French India was ceded to India.

PLATES WERE: Owner provided.

Plates were French style, white on black, with the following prefixes:

1925 - 1930 ~ White on black, simple serial number with no prefix.

1930 - 1954 ~ White on black, serial number prefixed with IF.

SINGLE PLATES OR PAIRS: Pairs

OVAL: FIF 

CARS DRIVE ON: Left
