Midway Island

STATUS: Military Island Possession, under the jurisdiction of the United States.

WORLD LOCATION: Northern Pacific Ocean

PLATES ARE: I only know of one registration item that could be considered a "plate", and it is pictured above. Smaller metal and plastic bicycle plates and stickers are also known. I was told the plate pictured in the header position was removed from a civilian moped, so I have to assume that there is some small civilian population, and some vehicles are registered. US Military vehicles are not required to bear registration plates.

There were also plates issued to airport maintenance vehicles, bearing a "winged globe" logo, a low number, and the legend "MIDWAY ISLD". These were most likely just identification plates for airport use only.
