REMEMBER!
16453
- SOMALIA - Recent series passenger - just got this
one in from Modadishu. No government down there yet, so getting anything
out is difficult. This one is all original as shown - $155.00
16454
- NEW YORK - 1982 Assembly plates - these low numbered
political issues aren't the hardest plates to find, but most are mint overruns
- this is an original used pair, from the estate of the retired Assemblyman
- AND, it comes with the matching Thruway toll plate. The Assembly
toll plates have an A prefix for this type, and the number matches the main
plates on the vehicles. All three plates for $95.00
16456
- PENNSYLVANIA - 1913 porcelain passenger plate -
look close... if there's a nicer one of these out there, I haven't seen it
- very close to mint, and the best part - this one has no fired-in makers
mark, it has two paper stickers! I would have stuck this plate in my
run, but I already have an excellent '13, and when they're hanging up, you
can't really appreciate the reverse side. A rare alternate design plate
- $260.00
16459
- NEW YORK - 1910 passenger plates. Pretty much
the nicest, all original pair of 1910's I've seen to date - these plates
are 100% original, off white on midnight blue - riveted on flat steel.
1910 is the first year for state issued plates in the Empire State.
I have a seven year old Crisler price guide that prices a single '10
NY in only "vg" condition at $175. The book doesn't even have a price
for this grade - $575.00 for the pair, firm (post-discount)
16461
- U.S.FORCES IN MOROCCO - 1957 series PAIR of plates
- these plates are HUGE, check the ruler in the pic - big hand painted steel
dishpans, with a dark green/blue painted border around edge. Very unusual
- big plates, so postage will more than the average plates. $90.00
gets both plates.
16463
- PENNSYLVANIA - 1959 passenger, first sticker year
- $8.00
16464
- NEW HAMPSHIRE - Nice original PURPLE HEART issue
- one of the tougher states - $55.00
16465
- OHIO - Recent series NATIONAL GUARD plate - another
tough state for this type - on the AVIATION base - $36.00
16466
- WISCONSIN - 1935 passenger - top grade all original
passenger, great gloss as shown - $32.00
16467
- DELAWARE - 2002 National Guard - nice original,
pulled from my collection - $30.00
16468
- IDAHO - Recent series BLUEBIRD prototype, from the
3M plant - I'm guessing it's 3M Department of License Plates? -
$35.00
16469
- WALES - I had this one pegged as a Scilly Isles
issue, but the Scilly plates started with the suffix J - this is an H suffic,
so it's from the town of Swansea, which is of course - in Wales. Still
a nice USED plate, not another British mainland plate-shop souvenir.
$42.00
16470
- FLORIDA - Great older front plate from the Signal
Cove Yacht Club - neat original paint, with primitive graphics - $25.00
16471
- IOWA - 1997 National Guard - another tough state
for Guard plates - this one has some tu as shown, but not too bad - $20.00
16472
- OKLAHOMA - FIRST ISSUE 1977 National Guard palte
- very nice all original. I have no idea why the number is this high!
- $35.00
16473
- OREGON - 2006 CRATER LAKE special plate - very nice
all original - $35.00
16474
- NEW MEXICO - 1968 Tribal Vehicle? I don't
know - this is a nifty maroon on reflective blue Government issue, usually
used on Tribal or other State Government types, but it has no prefix code.
Weird plate, nice number - $55.00
16475
- COLORADO - 1915 passenger porcelain - another one
of those "once in a lifetime" condition plates - all original as shown, excellent
to mint 100/99.6 ratio - high gloss. My seven year old Crisler guide
prices an excellent grade at $500 - this one is at LEAST excellent, and seven
years later, it's yours at a firm $600.00 (post discount, firm price) - if
you're a stickler for perfect porcelain, here's one for your collection.
16477
- NEW JERSEY - Undated, but probably 1952 series MUNICIPAL
GOVERNMENT plate - nice original - $25.00
16478
- KANSAS - 1942 SUNFLOWER graphic passenger - only
year for this sharp design - this is the best I've owned - $72.00
16479
- RHODE ISLAND - 1936 "300th YEAR" commemerative -
nice lowish number (I suppose), with all original paint - $42.00
16480
- RHODE ISLAND - 1946 passenger - nice all original
as shown - $52.00
16482
- RHODE ISLAND - Public Use plate - got some of these
from my buddy Chuck Westphal, and a few turned out to be repaints, so I'm
listing them here.... $5.00
16483
- RHODE ISLAND - FIRE TRUCK - another one from the
Westphal eBay sales - this actually is an IRP, or indigenous repaint - it
was repainted to extend the life of the plate, and is no easy type - $45.00
16484
- RHODE ISLAND - 1997 WAR VETERAN plate - original
as shown - $24.00
16485
- RHODE ISLAND - 1949 passenger, very nice original
condition, no touchup - $38.00
16486
- ARKANSAS - 2009 EDUCATION issue, with books and
crazy looking bookworm - has bubbling of the scotchlite around the digits
- $22.00
16487
- ARKANSAS - 2009 CHOOSE LIFE special issue - unusual
vanity version - $33.00
16488
- ARKANSAS - Undated DUCKS UNLIMITED - super looking
plate, with crest - a tough type - $35.00
16489
- SABA - 1974 Island Government plate - D is Dienst,
very nice all original older issue from this tiny little rock of an island
in the Dutch Antilles - $110.00
16490
- VIRGINIA - 1976 PROTOTYPE - neat plate, neat number
- looks like Minnesota dies - $48.00
16491
- SOUTH CAROLINA - 1973 FEDERAL COURT JUDGE, number
1 - very nice as shown - $68.00
16492
- TENNESSEE - 1963 National Guard - Tennessee always
had neat colors - this one is maroon on almost a muddy green-gray backgroun
- very nice, doesn't look used - $40.00
16493
- MAINE - 1987 National Guard - of all the guard plates
I have to offer, this one isn't fancy or much to look at, but a VERY tough
state to find (sort of like an Arizona or Oregon Guard issue) - not too bad
overall, and is probably close to the condition of the one in my set.
$52.00
16494
- WYOMING - 1988-1990 National Guard - very nice plate,
and a good number 2323 to boot - $30.00
16495
- IOWA - 1916-1918 "Type 3" passenger - this is a
BIG plate, very nice original condition - $30.00
16496
- MICHIGAN - 1980 State Representative plate, very
sharp white on glossy black from district 80 - also has the "80" date STAMPED
into the plate - $55.00
16498
- MICHIGAN - 1977 State Representative plate, very
sharp USED plate from district 19- also has the "77" date STAMPED into the
plate - $65.00
16500
- WYOMING - 1975-76 Bicentennial PROTOTYPE plate -
has Minnesota dies, unusual layout - $52.00
16501
- KANSAS - 1942 Sunflower plate, with a low number
- all original as shown - $44.00
16502
- IOWA - 1912 second-year-of-issue passenger - very
tough year for paint, and this one is very good ALL ORIGINAL as shown - don't
pass this one up! - $175.00
16503
- SIERRA LEONE - current series passenger, with flag
in corner - $67.00
16504
- JORDAN - here's something that's hard to find -
a USED Jordanian plate not made up in Germany - this is the REAL deal.
Plus it's a great number, AND it's a United Nations series plate -
all original, but if you don't like the somewhat battered and desert-worn
finish, feel free to refinish it (although I wouldn't touch it) - this one
dates to the late 1960's, early 1970's, heavy steel - $155.00
16505
- KWAJALEIN ATOLL - a hard to find intermediate issue
- from what I've heard, Kwaj ran out of plates, and used these green on white
"partial flats" to fill out the remaining orders for plates. I got
this from someone who got it directly ON Kwaj - back of the plate has the
original receipt from the Kwajalein Atoll Government - $125.00
16507
- HAITI - 1973 passenger, PERLE slogan, and the great
mint green color scheme - $45.00
16508
- ST. PIERRE et MIQUELON - I pulled this motorcycle
plate from my collection when I upgraded - another one of those plates that
about 98 percent of the known SPM plates were made in France, and never saw
the island. This one is a well-used (verging on battered) plate from
a motorcycle ON S.P.M. - $52.00
16509
- NORTH KOREA - this is one of the two only known
motorcycle plates that I turned up about ten years ago (the other plate is
in my collection, and is number 7-16) - this is NOT a cut down passenger,
nor is it one of those idiotic crap-tags that the shmuck in China was hand
stamping out of thin metal with wooden blocks. This plate is HEAVY
steel, machine stamped, and hand painted. I do not own this plate,
it's the sold leftover from the Pat McMahon "McPlates" listings on eBay -
Pat wanted me to list this with the rest of my motorcycles, and the price
is a firm (post-discount) $250.00 (which is half of what Pat originally paid).
A real piece of DPRK history!
16510
- NEW JERSEY - 1930 boat license plates - an original
matched pair, with original paint, from a tough paint year! Can't be
easy to find these older boat plates - the ALPCA archive only lists three
other older years, with a lot of holes in between, so I'll assume these early
ones are scarce - $65.00 for both.
16511
- RWANDA - 1980's vintage motorcycle plate (with W
code for MC) - VERY hard to find world motorcycle plate - I recently snagged
Pat McMahon's out of his collection, which was an upgrade, so this one is
now available - $125.00
16512
- PENNSYLVANIA - 1958 PROTOTYPE- this is from a small
group (like betwee 5-7) of different state issue prototypes for 1958 - this
is an actual large decal, not a metal plate! It was most likely designed
to be affixed to a flat steel plate, and is reflective. In 1958, the
state ended up going with a blue plate with orange numbers, and the 1959
date stickers followed. A rare piece for the hardcore PA collector,
this was the ONLY Pennsylvania proto in the group, although a few other had
more than one from one state - $120.00
16513
- CANAL ZONE - 1948 passenger - you just don't see
this year offered too often - colors are navy blue on a cream yellow, although
the picture looks little more beige - $145.00
16514
- U.S. FORCES in MOROCCO - this is the first issue
for the non-MA suffix US Forces Morocco plate - the zero is for 1960 - very
nice flat, used as shown (not 1953, despite what the reverse side says) -
$55.00
16516
- INDIANA - 1980 GOVERNOR - if you want to see what
the George Rogers Clark design looks like without a lot of numbers to clutter
the view, this is the plate for you - very nice original. I upgraded
back to a Bicentennial Indiana Governor, so this one is available - $155.00
16517
- NORTH KOREA - a neat plate, a 2000 series provisional
Military issue - hand painted in cream on black. The reverse side has
the remnants of a standard white on black flat military issue, number 265-2728,
although there's very little left of the this number. This one came
through the "underground railroad" from DPRK into China - original as shown
- $95.00
16452
- PENNSYLVANIA - 1964 "slotless L" steel issue - a
rare find, especially in this condition. The hardcore PA plate collectors
will know this is a tough find - aluminum plates first came out in 1958 in
Pennsylvania, and when the blanks were made, they came with a slot next to
the "58" to accommodate a proposed metal date tab. Stickers came into use
instead, so the slots remained, but were not used. During the manufacture
of the bulk of the new '58 bases, a few hundred left over "1957" plate blanks
were found, so they ran 'em through - these are STEEL plates, instead of
the regular aluminum, and they are missing the slot next to the date. All
known examples are in the numbering sequence with the "L" suffix (along with
very few Tractor plates). This is the nicest all-original version I've had
to offer, and one of only four I've owned. - $85.00
