17159 - CALIFORNIA-DISNEYLAND - Here's a one-of-a-kind find.  This plate was found with the estate items of an old retired Disneyland staffer, who was present during the first days of Disneyland back in the late 1950's.   This plate was purported to be from one of the "Main Street" antique cars which were used as rides/transport .. the EMF stands for the model, Everitt-Metzger-Flanders, which was a 30 hp vehicle - after hours of searching for photos of these vehicles with plates showing, I've concluded that it's doubtful that the vehicles in question WERE EMF vehicles, or that they had plates.  However, further digging made it likely that the plate in question was a parade plate, used on an actual Antique EMF, which would have run in a Main Street Parade for actual vehicles (most likely during some sort of special event - see photos of parade and entry forms).  This plate is clearly a used issue, and is OLD - EMF 30 is almost a gold leaf finish, the rest of the plate is white enamel.  The DISNEYLAND 1958 legend is "old school" late 1950's style 3M reflectorized adhesive.  Very neat plate, and I've yet to see another.  The use is still sketchy at best, but this is a rare piece of Disney history.  Photos are: Plate in question,  -  TRADE or  OFFER

PRE-1956 California plates

14883 - CALIFORNIA - 1927-28 brass BILLBOARD registration plate.  This little plate is a rare one - Beverly Hills had a fairly small population in the 1920's, and registrations like this one were just coming into use.  All original as shown, a small plate tag - $75.00

DISCOUNTS:  Buy over $200 worth, and I'll take 5% off the total.  Buy over $500 worth, and I'll take 10% off the total.  As always, I won't combine discounts.  You can use a coupon, or take the percentage, but not both.  Some of my regular/high volume buyers will get a set discount, regardless of order size, but this is for a select few - the more you buy, the better chance of getting on the "blue chip" buyer list..
