IMPORTANT!  D.C. plates for a good stretch of years used the "EXP.3-31" type year designator.  Many of the plates below are listed as per their actual "year of usage" - if a plate is a "3-31-54" plate, then the actual year is 1953.  Many plate collectors prefer to go by the year embossed on the plate as the year of issue, so please check the photo closely to be sure the plate listed is the one you want!

13420 - DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA - 1919 passenger pair - nice "front and back" number, and a tough year for paint - this set is all original condition, cream (or some say, a very pale blue) on olive green.  The better plate is nicer than the one shown in the Fox book. - $178.00 for both.

10802 - DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA - 1929 passenger  - nice original, has black marker tu on background, but still a nice looking plate - $48.00

13795 - DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA - 1940 matched pair of low numbered VIP plates.  The president got number 100/101, and various other big wigs got the numbers that followed.  Number 198 was awarded to Admiral Cary Grayson, who was the personal doctor to Woodrow Wilson, as well as the Chairman of the American Red Cross..  The Admiral died in 1938, and number 198 was used for a few years by the Admiral's widow, Edith.  I believe the spacing on the front plate was to accommodate a metal caduceus badge, which would mark the vehicle as a "doctor's car" - this issue was used after Grayson had died, so no badge was attached.  The set comes from the granddaughter of the Admiral - all original as shown - $450.00 for both

DISCOUNTS:  Buy over $200 worth, and I'll take 5% off the total.  Buy over $500 worth, and I'll take 10% off the total.  As always, I won't combine discounts.  You can use a coupon, or take the percentage, but not both.  Some of my regular/high volume buyers will get a set discount, regardless of order size, but this is for a select few - the more you buy, the better chance of getting on the "blue chip" buyer list..

Once I've sent you an invoice for your order, you're welcome to pay in any manner that's convenient to you.
