11439 - ALABAMA - 1973 passenger car ERROR - this one has the county number too far to the left, and the "3" is cut off in the border - $12.00

749 - ARIZONA - 1973 series test/manufacturing error. A neat one - this plate was never finished, probably because a piece of fiber-tape was accidentally manufactured INTO the background color.  Unusual error - $23.00 

18070 - COLORADO - 1971 Prison test/reject - great plate, with prisoner's hand scrawled "HELP" in the green number paint.  Will TRADE for a rare world motorcycle plate I need .... TRADE ONLY

9737 - COLORADO - 1980's vintage ERROR - with seriously misprinted numbers -  $25.00

756 - COLORADO - 1985 die variance - nice number, and the "9"s are two different designs. - $13.00

757 - COLORADO - 1998 "William and Mary" error - truck plate with an upside down "M" used as the "W" in the number.  Very unusual in this case, as it's actually seen right next to the standard "M". - $15.00 

758 - COLORADO - Denim graphic "mixed marriage" error - this plate has the Jefferson County name across the bottom, but the county number is F1J, which was actually for Boulder.  This plate should have BOULDER across the bottom - nice condition - $22.00 

759 - CONNECTICUT - 1980's vintage "missing die" error plate - this plate was most likely a prison pull, as it has creasing consistent with a fold downn the center.  The center DOT is missing on this plate, a fairly rare error - $38.00

11539 - FLORIDA - 1975 error - border is stamped off center - $12.00

14712 - GEORGIA - 1970 TEST PLATE - this plate is white on natural aluminum, with a spray of beige over the top and center.  A tough state for test plates, this is a nice freaky example - $36.00

14082 - GEORGIA - 1978 error plate SET - upside down "W" used instead of an "M", and an upside down "M" used as a "W".  Unusual to find both of these together, and the same year! - $28.00 for both

776 - IDAHO - 1980s "Scenic" graphic test plate - very dark blue on graphic background - machine painted, but numbers are spaced oddly - $23.00

6161 - ILLINOIS - Misprint error, with "4" falling off the plate - $21.00

777 - INDIANA - 1989 motorcycle error - TWO die variances on this one - different 3's and different 5's! - $15.00

1586 - IOWA - 1979 truck FULL INVERT ERROR - Iowa is one of the last states that I landed in my invert set, and I've only ever seen three in existence.  This is one of a truck pair that has recently surfaced, and I have a passenger plate from the same year in my collection.  USED condition! - $95.00 (or will trade plus $55.00 for an invert I need)

819 - MISSOURI - 1976 PANCHET STRIKE error - a really nice error, with a piece of another plate stamped into the finished plate, then roller painted over.  This is a tough state for errors! - $38.00 

837 - MONTANA - 1957 passenger car embossing error - this one has TWO sets of tab slots punched into the plate, partially into the lower right border - $26.00

839 - MONTANA - Triple-Header error - three plates manufactured with the same number - all three for $28.00

14087 - MONTANA - 1980's vintage EXEMPT plate test-error - here's a weird one - unfinished plate, with stamping completely off - interesting - $40.00

840 - MONTANA - 1976 test-error motorcycle plate.  Plate was embossed crooked on base, never painted - $23.00 

14172 - MONTANA - 1980's vintage MSU ERROR plate - this one has an upside down "V" in the number - $35.00

841 - NEW MEXICO - 1958 embossing error - border is stamped too far up and to the left, resulting in cut-off lip on the left edge, and a wide border on the right.  A nice '58 NM as well, with a great number - $33.00

842 - NEW MEXICO - 1974 Dealer plate - base date was re-stamped from a "72" to a "73" - $27.00 

845 - NEW MEXICO - 1985 die error - "H" is inverted - $9.00

846 - NEW MEXICO - 1985 series plate, with missing hyphen.  I'm not sure what type this plate even is, but it was originally marked "missing hyphen", so I'll go with that for now - $13.00 

847 - NEW YORK - 1970's vintage error - here's a very tough state for these oddball-errors - this one has TWO sets of bolt holes stamped into the bottom - doesn't look used - $26.00 

850 - NORTH DAKOTA - 1970 manufacturing error - this one has freaky forced wrinkles in the background scotchlite - not the most drastic error ever, but ND is notoriously tough for any type of misprints.  - $24.00 

18570 - OHIO - 1917 ERROR - one of the earliest error plates I've seen - this is a black on yellow litho steel passenger, but the state name stencil was applied upside-down, resulting in the state name reading OIHO.  This is not an altered plate, it's the real deal - from an old collection of Ohio rarities - $175.00

14109 - OHIO - 1968 passenger - great error plate, with 7 in number WAY too low - unusual to find an error this obvious, with actual usage. - $50.00

856 - OHIO - 1980's Heart of it All "baking error" - this one was left in the curing oven too long, resulting in the clear coat turning amber - front and back.  Really unusual error - $15.00 

15871 - OHIO - 1990's ERROR/test plate - Dealer issue, with older style green dies on later style base - should be blue numbers - $45.00

15885 - OHIO - 1980's BLANK - this is an IN TRANSIT series plate, no numbers, and embossed legend has been gone over with a blue marker - $23.00

15886 - OHIO - 1980's TEST plate - Replacement, Trailer, In Transit and Dealer features - neat plate - $28.00

15887 - OHIO - 1996 vintage ERROR - HAM RADIO issue on the gold-gradient HEART base - "N5LKW" is a Texas based call, so chances are, this was an error with an "S" instead of a "5" - $38.00

15888 - OHIO - 1996 series FORMER POW test plate - gold gradient, with vanity serial, and "RE" Replacement code in corner.  Could have been a real plate, but most likely a test - $26.00

859 - OKLAHOMA - 1967 die-alignment error with a "jumpy" three in the number - $17.00 

860 - OKLAHOMA - 1971 motorcycle bolt stamp/planchet error - this one has double stamped bolt holes, and also a tiny planchet strike - there's a little sliver of scrap metal stamped above the first "A" in the state name - $12.00

862 - OKLAHOMA - 1973 die error, with the "8" in the number clearly taking off - $16.00 

6160 - OKLAHOMA - 1974 "Prison Fire" survivor - in 1973, there was a fire at the Oklahoma prison where the plates were made, destroying the shop, and practically all of the dated 1974 license plates.  A sticker was eventually used to update the red/white 1973 plates - a few intact 1974 dated plates were found - here's an unusual test-error plate that actually had the corner cut off before the fire took place - probably was in the trash when the fire hit - $34.00

867 - OREGON - 1957 Trailer Coach error - here's a rare one, from a state that never lets errors loose - simple enough screw-up, the tab slots were stamped into the plate on the wrong side, resulting in the slots being on the bottom right, instead of over the date.  - $38.00 

869 - PANAMA - 1980's vintage ERROR/Test plate - stamped a few different ways, and never painted - this one even has two different provincial names on the plate, as well as DUPLICADO - unusual! - $22.00

870 - PANAMA - 1996 error/test plate - a restamped base, with the country name and province at top and bottom.  When the region and country name match (Panama), this kind of mistake is bound to happen.  - $24.00 

871 - PENNSYLVANIA - 1941 test plate - this is an unfinished plate, with the background done in the 1940 colors - this plate should be a dark blue-violet with orange numbers.  Not a stripped and repainted plate, this is from an old collection of test plates that I picked up some years ago - all numeric as well, check the consecutive issues available below - $26.00

872 - PENNSYLVANIA - 1941 test plate - this is an unfinished plate, with the background done in the 1940 colors - this plate should be a dark blue-violet with orange numbers.  Not a stripped and repainted plate, this is from an old collection of test plates that I picked up some years ago - all numeric as well, check the consecutive issues available below and above - $17.00

873 - PENNSYLVANIA - 1941 test plate - this is an unfinished plate, with the background done in the 1940 colors - this plate should be a dark blue-violet with orange numbers.  Not a stripped and repainted plate, this is from an old collection of test plates that I picked up some years ago - all numeric as well, check the consecutive issues available above - $29.00

874 - PENNSYLVANIA - 1956 passenger car die variance - this one has the narrow dies used on the 1957 plates - most 1956 plates had the wider dies.  Nice example - $21.00 

877 - PENNSYLVANIA - 1958/64 STEEL variant make plate - almost all 1958 Penna plates were aluminum - a small amount were made using leftover 1957 metal, so they were heavy, with no tab slots, and almost all were in the ###-##L series.  This one is all original - $42.00

15972 - PENNSYLVANIA - ERROR - Truck plate on the 1970's gold on blue base, but this one was accidentally produced on a purple "ANTIQUE CAR" blank - only one I've ever seen - $95.00

888 - SASKATCHEWAN - 1975 Doctor's plate - embossing error, with double-stamped MD-1 in the number - probably embossed, and then re-embossed.  - $21.00 

10729 - SONORA (MEXICO) - 1980's vintage Fronteriza (Frontier) issue, from Sonora.  Error, with jumpy "1" in number - $22.00

2214 -  SOUTH CAROLINA  - 1972 vanity ERROR - with an inverted ampersand - unusual enought to see this symbol on a vanity - $46.00

13938 - SOUTH CAROLINA  - 1972 vanity ERROR - I'm guessing that the average prisoner doesn't know what an "ampersand" is, so they probably don't know when it's upside-down, either.  Nice plate, cool error - $56.00

894 - TENNESSEE - 1960 BUS plate set - this is a set of test plates, from the TENN DMV - I received this quite some years ago - neither look used.  One has TENN 60, the other has 60 TENN - both plates for $48.00 

898 - TEXAS - 1986 Sesqui error plate - this is one of the Dealer plates that were produced without the "1836" date on the left. - $14.00

899 - TEXAS - 1992 Die Variance error - two different "7"s in the number - $9.00

714 - ALABAMA - 1962 test plate - this one is prison/factory-finished, NOT repainted.  Standard colors on reverse, but front was done in black on brown - plate shows no actual use, front or back, and green paint on reverse was of a watery consistency.  This plate, along with some others on this list, came from a collection of test plates I purchased at Hershey PA back in the early 1980's - a rare one - $42.00

16512 - PENNSYLVANIA - 1958 PROTOTYPE- this is from a small group (like betwee 5-7) of different state issue prototypes for 1958 - this is an actual large decal, not a metal plate!  It was most likely designed to be affixed to a flat steel plate, and is reflective.  In 1958, the state ended up going with a blue plate with orange numbers, and the 1959 date stickers followed.  A rare piece for the hardcore PA collector, this was the ONLY Pennsylvania proto in the group, although a few other had more than one from one state - $120.00

14079 - PENNSYLVANIA   - 1971 PROTOTYPE - this plate has a SCHOOL BUS sample number, but it actually a proto, trying out the 1977 color scheme on the Bicentennial base.  The actual 1971 was a non-reflective yellow on blue, this one is blue on reflective yellow, which was the '77 layout.  Probably the only known "BICENTENNIAL STATE" plate on a reflective backing - $135.00 or will trade for some nifty rare plate I need.

13323 - QUEBEC - Nice prototype issue - ALCAN is the Canadian equivalent of the aluminum manufacturing firm ALCOA - Quebec has NO personalized plates, this is an actual metal test/proto - a "one of a kind" plate -  if you're doing a "one per" on vanity plates, this might be your only chance!  $95.00

14078 - SALESMAN SAMPLE  - 1970 "sample" - a great black on reflective yellow plate, heavy steel with glass beading - a rare one - $55.00
